The MasterMynd Letter

Notes on clarity, careers and building something that lasts.

Not a weekly digest. Not a funnel. When I have something worth your attention — a framework that changed how I decide, a pattern I keep seeing in the people I work with, a question worth sitting with — I write it down and send it.

No schedule. No spam. Unsubscribe in one click.

What Actually Arrives

Three kinds of thing. Nothing else.

01.

Frameworks, Not Motivation

A way of thinking about a decision you can actually apply — how to weigh reversible against irreversible choices, how to tell a positioning problem from a performance one, how to decide when the information is incomplete. Structure you can use on Monday.

02.

Patterns From the Work

The same problems recur across careers, companies and lives. What capable people consistently get wrong about plateaus, what founders miss about their own role, why the obvious problem is rarely the real one. Anonymised, always.

03.

What I’m Reading and Rethinking

Philosophy, psychology, mythology, technology — and where they turn out to be about the same thing. Occasionally something I had wrong and have since changed my mind about.

What This Is Not

  • a daily or weekly obligation you’ll come to resent
  • recycled quotes and motivational filler
  • a drip sequence engineered to sell you something
  • a list your address gets shared or sold from

An Honest Note on Frequency

I run MasterMynd alongside a full-time engineering leadership role. That means I write when I have something worth sending, not when a content calendar says to.

Some months that’s twice. Some months it’s nothing at all.

I would rather send you four things you actually read than fifty you delete.

If you want volume, there is plenty of it elsewhere.

Who Writes It

Ex-Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Symantec, Zillow. Built and scaled a company. Serial entrepreneur. Led global engineering teams. Rebuilt after failure, loss and reinvention.

Corporate life, entrepreneurship, technology and AI, and personal reinvention — most important problems turn out to be systems problems disguised as individual problems, and the perspective here comes from having been inside all four.

Everything draws on the same framework the rest of the site is built on: Truth → Order → Competence → Responsibility → Resilience → Meaning → Expression → Contribution → Destiny. See the framework →
